Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the Orchid Vacation website, the purpose each one serves, and the controls available to you. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
We use a deliberately small number of these technologies. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not permit third parties to track you across other websites through this site.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. This policy also covers similar browser storage technologies — specifically localStorage and sessionStorage — which serve comparable purposes but are not transmitted with every request.
2. Technologies We Use
A. Strictly Necessary
These are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are used only in response to actions you take.
- Consent preference: Records whether you accepted or rejected optional storage, so we do not ask again on every page. Retained for six months, after which you will be asked again.
- Sign-in session: Set only if you sign in with Google or Facebook to submit a testimonial. It keeps you signed in for that session.
- Spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA): Our enquiry and newsletter forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which sets a cookie in your browser. This is loaded only when you begin interacting with one of those forms — not on general browsing — and is necessary to submit them. It is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
B. Optional (Consent Required)
- Campaign attribution: Where you reach us through a marketing link, we store the campaign reference from that link for the duration of your browsing session, so that an enquiry or newsletter sign-up can be attributed to the campaign that led to it. This is stored only if you accept, and is cleared when you close the tab.
Note: We do not use analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies on this website. If that changes, this policy will be updated and you will be asked for your choice again.
3. Managing Your Choices
When you first visit the site you are asked whether to accept optional storage. Rejecting it does not affect any part of the website — enquiry forms, newsletter sign-up, sign-in, and every page continue to work normally.
You can change your decision at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of any page. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent forms and sign-in from working.
